Power Cords / Extension Cords Compliant with Multiple Standards

Multi-standard power cords and extension cords are cords that are compatible with standards not only in Japan, but also in multiple countries worldwide. In Japan, the PSE mark is awarded to products that pass the standards specified by the Electrical Appliances and Materials Safety Act of Japan, enabling them to be sold as products that assure a certain standard of safety. Internationally, the voltage varies by country, therefore different cord standards are used. Different international cord standards include UL, CSA, VDE, SEMKO, DEMKO and SEV. Similarly to Japan, only products that pass the standards applicable in that country can be sold as products. Multi-standard power cords and extension cords have passed the standards of multiple countries, and can, therefore, be used both in Japan and other countries. As a result, they are also suitable for use in products and communication devices targeting international markets.
