Electric Discharge Tools

Electrical discharge tools are tools used for electric discharge machining. Firstly, electrical discharge machining is a machining method to perform machining by fusing the workpiece with arc electrical discharge between electrode and workpiece. Since the method uses electricity as medium, it is easy to perform machining of hard-to-cut materials such as heat-resistant alloys and high-hardness metals; furthermore, the method causes no burrs as one of its features. Additionally, electrical discharge machining is categorized into “wire cut” and “die sinker EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)”. The former method uses very thin electrode wires as an electrode to generate sparks, and cut metals by fusing them with heat. Electrical discharge tools used in this method include electrode wires, filters and ion exchange resins. The latter method is performed by causing sparks between electrode and workpiece to engrave metals in the shape of the electrode. Electrical discharge tools used in this method include copper electrodes, filters for die sinker EDM, and more.
