Drilling Machines

Drill presses are machine tools used to make holes in materials such as metal. The object to be drilled is placed on a table, and the main drill, reamer, and the like is rotated to make holes. In addition to drilling holes, bulging, reaming, and countersinking can be done as well. After a pilot hole smaller than the target is drilled, the hole is widened with a drill of the target size, and then finishing, tapping, and the like is done, so multiple drills are needed to make a single hole. A variety of machining can be handled by benchtop types that can machine small holes of about 13 mm in diameter, upright types installed directly on the floor that can machine holes from 13 to 50 mm in diameter, and other types. Drill presses have speed controllers with which rotational speed can be selected according to the material and depth scales.
