Taper Shank Drills (HSS)(Page2)

A taper shank drill (high-speed steel) is a cutting tool that is attached to a drill press, a milling machine, a lathe, etc. and used to drill holes. The base metal, high-speed steel is a material with metal components such as tungsten, molybdenum, and chrome added, and has excellent abrasion resistance and toughness. It is compatible with a wide range of work materials, and characterized by resistance to breaking and chipping. The types of surface treatment of a taper shank drill include homogenizing treatment that provides good lubrication performance and coating that improves abrasion resistance. A Morse taper (MT) shank is a major standard shank and installed in a processing machine directly or with a sleeve. The blade diameters and the blade tip lengths also vary, and can be selected and used according to the purpose of processing.
