Connectors are connecting components used in electronic devices and communications devices to transmit power and signals. They allow precision devices and small electronic devices that cannot be directly soldered to be powered safely. Using connectors makes detaching and re-attaching connectors easy, reducing the amount of labor for maintenance work, such as replacing parts. Frequently used in construction and industrial equipment, connectors are generally classified into types that join devices to devices, those that connect wiring to circuit boards inside machinery, etc. Connectors that join devices to devices include LAN cables, conversion adapters, coaxial connectors and rectangular connectors, and those used for wiring inside machinery include board-to-board connectors and IC sockets.
